Practicing on paper and on the screen

The same material

The sheets to print and the sets on the screen are made from the same items. You can use either, or both.

On paper

Each sheet to print has six items in large type. Choices are printed as plain words in boxes. There is nothing to check off.

Where an item is said aloud, there are lines for anyone who would rather write.

The partner sheet is on pages of its own. It lists what to say, the cues in order and the intended words. It stays with the practice partner.

Any set you choose on the screen can be printed too.

On the screen

The screen shows one item at a time. A cue appears only when you select Show a cue.

Read aloud can be switched on in Settings. It uses a voice that is already on the device.

The partner view shows the cues and the intended words below the item. It is off until you choose it.

From one to the other

Each sheet page has a link that opens the same set on the screen.

A set printed from the Print page carries a small code. Open the code with a phone or a tablet, and the same set opens on that device.

The code names the set, or its items, and nothing else. Nothing about you is in it.

Either way

Nothing is timed, on paper or on the screen. You can stop at any moment.

Plain explanations

This is practice material. It is not medical advice and it is not speech therapy. It does not replace a speech-language pathologist.

Sudden new trouble speaking or understanding is an emergency. Call 911 or your local emergency number now. Tell your doctor or speech-language pathologist about trouble swallowing or changes in mood.
